RESUMO

AIMS: Determine efficacy of "KARER" educational intervention on caring ability and burden of caregiving relatives of disabled patients with stroke and cardiovascular diseases. DESIGN: Clinical, randomized, controlled and double blinded trial with a mixed approach. METHODS: Study population will be made up of 96 caregiving relatives of patients of home-hospitalized care programs in the cities of Bogotá and Bucaramanga, (Colombia), between March 2021 and March 2022. Participants will be randomly assigned into two groups, either intervention (n = 48) or control (n = 48). The intervention is interdisciplinary and multi-component: B-Learning modality and clinical simulation. Follow-up of participants will last 8 weeks from intervention period start-out, and measurements will be taken and analysed in masked form. The main results will be the mean score changes of care ability and caregiver burden. DISCUSSION: Caregiving relatives will show better adaptation to their role through effective use of caring abilities as they look after disabled persons with chronic diseases.

RESUMO

The article aims to describe the Mental Health Recovery Model, the Tidal Model in Mental Health Recovery and their relevance to implementation within the practice of Colombian nursing. Some concepts about mental health recovery and the theoretical model proposed by Phil Barker are presented in the text, analysing these with the challenges of the nursing professional to improve mental health care, taking into account the current context of care practice. The principles proposed with the Recovery model help to focus care on the person and not on the symptomatology of the illness, understanding that the person has different dimensions which make it possible for him/her to explore his/her own path to recovery. We can conclude that, through the theory, we can develop interventions and nursing activities that contribute to improving the quality of life of people who have been diagnosed with a mental illness, modifying the traditional healthcare models.

Sexual violence is a historical problem that has affected humanity since time immemorial, with women being the most affected. Attention to this problem comprises different disciplines; in nursing his approach focuses on technical procedures that are emphasized in the physical. The present study seeks to solve a problem of mental health nursing practice in the face of the attention of women victims of sexual violence. Its objective was to design a proposal for intervention in mental health for victims of sexual violence. The design of the study is qualitative, descriptive of documentary type, for it was taken into account the structuring of a systematic review describing the nursing care in mental health to victims of sexual violence, in addition to the review of public policies based on the attention to victims of sexual violence. As nursing theorist was taken the nurse and philosopher Phil Barker and his tidal model for the recovery of mental health. The proposal is based on recommendations of models, guidelines, protocols and guidelines of sexual violence, in recommendations of the systematic review and in the 10 commitments of the theory of the tide, with interventions NIC (Classification of Nursing Interventions) proposed for the realization of nursing activities in the care of victims of sexual violence. The conclusion of the proposal is framed in providing humanized care focused on a dignified, respectful and individualized treatment, responding to the needs of women victims of sexual violence.
